Each year, the prestigious MovieMaker.com releases their list of 50 Film Festivals Worth The Entry Fee, a list of some of the best festivals in the world that don’t get quite the attention that festivals such as SXSW or Cannes tend to get. Among this year’s selections is the illustrious HollyShorts Film Festival, which will be running in its 20th year from August 8th-18th at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood. It’s an incredible honor to be mentioned among all the other incredible festivals on the list, and we can only hope this won’t be the final time that it happens.

Calling it “Another of the premier short film festivals”, the article, by the very talented Tim Molloy, highlights the festival’s submission-to-acceptance ratio, the impressive prize, and the ability to get your work seen by some of the industry’s premiere distribution destinations.

Also mentioned is the “opportunity to get your work in front of the press, and the festival even helps with press release templates and writeups on the Bitpix blog.” (This last one is just to get the opportunity to thank Tim for including us in his write-up, so thanks Tim!)

As we get closer and closer to the festival, more and more news will be coming in about the festival, which will hopefully include more much appreciated shout outs such as this.

Another big thank you to MovieMaker, Tim Molloy, and to you for taking the time to read and talk about not only HollyShorts, but about our little piece of the internet as well. Be sure to keep coming back for more information as it arrives! The 20th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival will run from August 8th to August 18th, and will have all screening blocks aired on BitPix.
