Closing Night Panel Event & Cocktail party

The switch from film to video went extremely fast and we were all told that by now, film would be completely dead with no one making or processing the medium.  But instead, last year film had a banner year with no less than 64 major motion pictures shot on the medium including Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Mission Impossible, Hateful 8, Carol, Joy, The Big Short, Train Wreck, Entourage and many others. Film is not limited to movies either. The Walking Dead dominated television ratings which was shot on film.  As well, this next year consumers will see a slew of new high profile television series shot on the medium including Jonathon Nolan’s Westworld and Judd Apatow’s Crashing.

Film isn't dead with Independent filmmaking either. A large amount of low budget indies were shot on film this past year and just recently at CES, Kodak announced that it was getting back into the motion picture camera business with a new Super 8 Camera.  A cast of motion pictures finest all came out stumping for the camera including:  Chris Nolan, Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Jeff Nichols and Alex Ross Perry to name but a small few from the release.

Shortly thereafter Kodak announced it was adding new labs in London, New York and possibly other production hubs. Film is back and we’re here with an illustrious panel of award winning filmmakers who have all made spectacular movies on celluloid with tiny budgets. Weighing in on the come back, we will also have the President of Motion Picture from Kodak, who is as well an award winning director and obviously, a film buff.

The only proven path to independence as an artist is a direct connection to your audience. Crowdfunding is becoming a fundamental piece of most financing plans for independent film. However, many filmmakers miss the opportunity to turn their film funding campaigns into audience-building opportunities that can last an entire career — and provide the groundwork for theatrical distribution that you control. This class for film-related projects will provide the crowdfunding action plan most likely to create a lasting, flourishing, direct relationship with your audience. In this workshop, you'll learn how to find your audience, how to structure your crowdfunding campaign, how to pick the right goal and backer incentives, and much more. And just so you know...Seed&Spark crowdfunding projects launched by people who've attended this session have a 100% success rate. Just sayin'...

About Seed&Spark: Seed&Spark is a crowdfunding and integrated distribution platform for independent films and film related projects.  With the highest success rate in the business (75%!!!), we're helping creators build independent careers one project at a time.
