Hollywood August 6, 2013SOLMont Events, the organizers of the upcoming 9th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival which takes place August 15-22, 2013 at the TCL Chinese Theatre today officially announced the inaugural HOLLYSHORTS FILM CONFERENCE Presented By Method Studios, a special co-located event taking place at the Roosevelt Hotel, featuring a slew of high level panels, speaking engagements and panels tackling the most important issues facing the entertainment industry.

Tools of the Trade: Demystifying VFX panel taking place onSaturday August 17 at 2pm. The session will be presented by Jason Schugardt whose credits include 4 Academy Award winning feature films in his specialized discipline. Schugardt’s resume includes VFX work on David Fincher’s “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” and “The Wolverine.” Jason will be joined by Charles Abou Aad, a veteran of 11 years in the effects industry working on genre defining VFX blockbusters including: “I Robot,” “Transformers,” and “Super 8.”  Prior to the 9:30pmhorror screening presented by FEARnet at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Friday August 16, FEARnet will present the Art of The Horror Short Film panel at 4pm at the HOLLYSHORTS FILM CONFERENCE followed by a private reception.

Indiegogo Pitch Fest-Pitch Your Indie Project, a real-time Crowd Funding Panel where filmmakers will pitch their ideas for their passion projects. The winning pitch will receive real funds to back the production from Indiegogo. The panel is being moderated by John Trigonis, Manager, Film & Video at Indiegogo/writer of Crowdfunding For Filmmakers: The Way to A Successful Film Campaign. Judges include Erin Li, Producer/Director “Kepler X-47,” and   Diana Wright, Writer “Donnie Brock PI.” The Indiegogo panel takes place on Sunday August 18 at 4pm. On Thursday August 22 catch the Next Gen Breakthrough Producers Panel featuring Amber Rasberry, Director of Development, 34th St. Films, a subsidiary of Perry Studios, Sarah Perlman Bremner, Head of Development, Sunny Field Entertainment, Clay Westervelt, Founder of Imaginaut,  Adam Lebovitz, Co-Creator of Quick Film Budget Inc., Mark Stolaroff, Founding Partner of Antic Pictures and Creator of No Budget Film School and Matt Ratner, Producer at Permut Presentations.
