Hollywood May 20, 2016---With today marking the official late deadline for the 12th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival (HSFF), the event’s organizers SolMont Entertainment is announcing the launch of a pilot program to promote this year’s winners in a limited theatrical run following the festival. The festival takes place August 11-20, 2016 at the TCL Chinese Theater and surrounding locations in Hollywood. All late submissions must be in by 11:59pm PST tonight. The special pilot program to promote this year’s winners will showcase between 12-15 top short film Award winners and the films will be showcased in theaters for a 1-week theatrical run in Los Angeles and/or New York City. To qualify, the films must be submitted to the festival, officially selected and be handpicked as one of the top 12-15 winning short films for the theatrical pilot program by this year’s festival jury.
Commented HollyShorts Film Festival founders Daniel Sol and Theo Dumont: “We are thrilled to be promoting our winners with our inaugural winners theatrical exhibition program. This means HollyShorts winners will be considered for Oscar consideration, we couldn’t be prouder to launch this initiative and it shows our commitment to helping harness the next generation of filmmakers in Hollywood.”
To spearhead the theatrical showcase initiative, the organizers have hired a special Awards consultant who will supervise the theatrical process after the winners have been announced.
